Lighting the Way Together
Gilibanga is a First Nations-led movement lighting the way toward justice, truth-telling, and transformative impact. We exist to centre Indigenous voices in impact measurement, drive systems reform, and strengthen cultural capability across the evaluation sector.
Our vision is evaluation that is community-led, culturally grounded, and rooted in strength - not deficit.
Our mission is to reclaim narrative power, build collective capability, and create spaces where First Nations knowledge holders lead change on their own terms.
What We Do
Gilibanga works across three interconnected streams that bring our mission to life:
Network Development – Growing a national collective of First Nations evaluators and allies who walk together in solidarity and shared purpose
Training & Learning – Delivering culturally grounded training in place, in relationship, and in language, led by community and guided by Country
Knowledge Sharing – Reclaiming narrative power through storytelling, research, toolkits, and model design that reflect lived experience and cultural strength
This work is not theoretical - it’s practical, relational, and deeply rooted in our ways of knowing and being.
How to Get Involved
Gilibanga is building a strong, values-driven network of changemakers committed to justice, self-determination, and systems change.
Whether you’re a Blak evaluator working on the ground, a First Nations researcher from across the globe, or a non-Indigenous ally walking respectfully beside us - this is your place for connection, collaboration, and collective impact.
Together, we uphold evaluation that is culturally grounded, community-led, and strengths-based. Together, we make light.
